wie wäre es denn in der ersten strophe mit:

Never seen never known never touched this place

dem würde ich mich ganz spontan auch mal anschliessen! macht irgendwie mehr sinn, oder?!

obwohl, muss mich verbessern... ich glaub, dass heisst face und nicht place!!!

Ich hab ne Aufnahme von GongFM, wo Elli den Song unplugged singt, da kann man den Text ganz gut hören. Hab jetzt grad noch mal reingehört, ich hör immer "space", ein deutliches "sp" am Anfang. Auch ins Video hab ich jetzt noch mal reingeschaut, auch da sieht die Lippenbewegung nach nem "sp" aus - Sinn hin oder her! Das wird wohl nur Elli aufklären können :)

Beim Chorus bin ich mir aber 100% sicher!!

"There`s no need to high", wie bitte willst du das übersetzen? Makes no sense at all to me!

Vielleicht aber heißt es gar nicht "never touched this face", sondern "phase", das wäre phonetisch gleich, aber dann gäbe die verwendung von "space" und "place" mehr Sinn. *seufz*

Und was ist mit dem Anfang der zweiten Strophe? "dreamy night" ... was hört ihr da? "dreamly" jedenfalls nicht, das Wort kenn ich gar nicht...

habe es heute morgen ur kurz reingestellt und nochz keine zeit gehabt.

denke aber doch es ist: face ... wäre einfach sinniger

wow, das glaub ich passt jetzt schon.....

Ich studier Englisch, und ein bisschen was hab ich im Studium mitbekommen *zwinker* Zudem hab ich auch die Aufnahme von GongFM und hab sie mir jetzt auch ein paar Mal angehört. Da hat sie leider nur die erste Strophe und den Refrain gesungen, aber die sind wirklich sehr deutlich zu hören und zu verstehen. Deshalb schließ ich mich der Wassereule an, der Chorus paßt jetzt so.
The suns shines at night ... ganz ganz sicher, das paßt ja auch prima vom Sinn her und in den Kontext. Ich find die Metapher auch sehr schön ... Die Sonne scheint in der Nacht.... Ich wäre fast schon enttäuscht, wenn es anders wäre, gg.

Ob place oder space oder doch face ... da bin ich mir auch nicht mehr sicher, müssen wir wohl auf ne authorisierte stellungnahme warten.

Das haut grammatisch nicht hin, dann müßte es have been heißen, und das hör ich nun gar nicht. "There must be someone" paßt schon so, heißt ja auch "There Must Be An Angel", das kennen ja sicher alle. Obwohl ich zugebe, dass Elli das "be" arg in die Länge zieht, da kann man sich schon mal verhören.


Nee, also das geht gar nicht, das ist überhaupt kein Satz! Dann schon eher der Vorschlag von Wassereule.

Also, auf meiner Page ist das Interview mit der kurzen Unplugged-Version ja zu hören, demnach muss ich es mir einige Male angehört haben, und die Single auch des öfteren gehört. Ich gebe Schimmi, bzw Wassereule, voll Recht. Die anderen Versionen machen einfach keinen Sinn, ob vom Englischen, vom Kontext oder vom Hören her...
Klar, können da noch kleine Fehler drin sein, aber diese Version trifft es noch am nächsten!

um mich auch noch einzumischen als Englisch Ass, Fremdsprachensekretärin und zeitweise in England-lebende *lach* In der 2. Strophe ist des glaub ich, da steht "... Who's the one to enlive, to do live..." - es gibt weder "to do live" noch gibt es "enlive". Um ganz sicher gehen, hab ich mal das English-English Dictionary hervorgekramt und unter "enlive" gesucht: gibbet aber nicht, es gibt nur "enliven", was etwas interessanter oder amüsanter machen soll. Z. B. wenn man spricht und dabei Fotos zeigt: viel interessanter ;) Aber jetzt bei dem Text von Elli, da hör ich auch nichts anderes raus... also müssen wir uns etwas gedulden und mal schauen, wenn die offizielle Version im Netz rumspukt ;) Is echt interessant, wieviel Gedanken man sich um so nen Text machen kann ;) Bis denn, Grüßle.

Die übersetzung ist da auch noch mit drin falls die jemand haben will
Außerdem sind noch ein paar Sätze zum Thema "Der Pop-Olymp! Wer steigt auf, wer steigt ab?" drin:
"Elli hat zwar bei DSDS den "Superstar"-Titel geholt, doch sie ist noch meilenweit von einer großen Karriere entfernt. Kann sich Elli halten oder stürzt sie ab? Die nächste CD wird es zeigen"
Wie in einem anderen Thread schon erwähnt ist auch noch die CD im "Soundcheck"

Hoffe ich konnte bezüglich des Textes helfen, und ich muss sagen so klingt es auch logisch ;)

Na, da waren wir doch gar nicht soo weit weg *zwinker* Gestern bei Tops hab ich Elli noch mal nach dem Text gefragt, und so ist er mir auch von höchster Stelle, nämlich von Elli bestätigt worden! Also "place" und "face" und "enlight".
